Mumbai, Oct. 31 -- A city-based advocate and social activist, Nitin Satpute, has announced plans to file a petition in the Bombay High Court challenging the circumstances surrounding the death of a 50-year-old man during a police operation in Powai.

The individual, Rohit Arya, had held 19 persons, comprising 17 minors and two adults, in captivity within a studio facility. The activist contends that the police action constituted an unjustified use of force and questions the necessity of the fatal response.

Legal expert Satpute has articulated numerous concerns regarding the manner in which law enforcement personnel conducted the operation.
