Aizawl, Dec. 7 -- With counting day approaching for the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) election, officials in Lawngtlai underwent a final round of training today at the deputy commissioner's conference hall.
Votes for the 12th LADC were cast last Tuesday, and counting will take place this Tuesday.
District Election Officer Donny Lalruatsanga, addressing the trainees, praised the polling teams for ensuring a smooth and incident-free voting process. He also acknowledged the death of a polling officer from Lungtian-2 on polling day, noting that assistance was immediately provided to the bereaved family and that ex-gratia procedures have been initiated.
