Latur (Maha), Oct. 3 -- In a crackdown on illicit liquor trade, the local police registered 62 cases and arrested 63 persons involved in manufacturing and selling of moonshine across the district.
The large-scale operation resulted in the seizure of liquor and materials valued at nearly Rs 3 lakh, while 710 litres of homemade chemicals were destroyed at the site of sizures.
The campaign was launched under the directives of Superintendent of Police Amul Tambe, with the active supervision of Additional Superintendent Mangesh Chavan. As many as 36 police officers and 161 personnel were deployed in multiple teams to conduct surprise raids in both rural and urban areas.
