Patna, May 13 -- CPI on Tuesday alleged that land mafias were grabbing Bhoodan lands in Bihar, which were allotted to landless people by the state government, and such injustice being meted out to them must be stopped forthwith.

State Secretary of CPI Ram Naresh Pandey said here that during the Bhoodan movement launched by Acharya Vinoba Bhave, a total of 6,48,593 acres of land were donated by land owners to be distributed among landless people. It was a great movement to ensure social and economic justice to the weaker sections of society and the poor who lagged behind on the path of development and prosperity, he added.
