Tunis, Jan. 15 -- The Tunisian Football Federation announced the appointment of Sabri Lamouchi as the head coach of Tunisia until 2028.

Lamouchi, 54, succeeds Sami Trabelsi, who was dismissed after Tunisia's round-of-16 exit at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

As a player, Lamouchi had spells with several European clubs, winning French league titles with Auxerre and Monaco, and lifting the Italian Cup with Parma.

He also won 12 international caps for France, scoring one goal.

In his coaching career, Lamouchi has taken charge of the Cote d'Ivoire national team and had spells at clubs including Rennes, Nottingham Forest, and Cardiff City.
