Chennai, Dec. 30 -- Lakhs of pilgrims and devotees thronged various Vaishnavite templesacross Tamil Nadu on the auspicious occasion of Vaikunta Ekadesi, marking the opening ofSorga Vaasal (The rode to heaven abode) early on Tuesday morning.
The Sorga Vaasal was opened in all the 108 divya desams of Vaishnavite temples as devoteesthronged in large numbers to step into the entrance as the presiding deities of temples, adornedVarjrangi sesai, went past the holy entrance.
