Bhopal, May 2 -- Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the state government has always been at the forefront of the welfare of all daughters, sisters, and mothers in the state.

The government launched the Ladli Laxmi Yojana on April 1, 2007 to encourage the birth of girls and secure their future, he said.

"This scheme is a unique initiative globally to promote girl child birth and improve the state's gender ratio. Under the scheme, the government provides financial assistance to parents from the birth of a girl child to her education and marriage. The scheme has received an overwhelming response, resulting in an improvement in the state's gender ratio," he added.
