Srinagar, Sept. 25 -- Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today said the violent clashes in Leh were a direct fallout of New Delhi's unilateral decision of August 5, 2019, that bifurcated Jammu and Kashmir and downgraded it into two union Territories.
At least four people were killed and dozens injured in Leh yesterday when protests over statehood and inclusion of Ladakh under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution turned violent, prompting the administration to impose curfew-like restrictions.
