Shamli, Aug. 25 -- An Anti-Corruption Team from Saharanpur arrested a labour inspector red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 in the Kandhla area of Shamli district today.
The incident took place near a hotel on the Panipat-Khatima Highway in the town of Banat and is related to a case from Asadpur Jidna village.
The complainant, Subedin, revealed that his son had died in a road accident three years ago. His son was a registered labour card holder, which made the family eligible for an insurance compensation of Rs 5 lakh under the labour welfare scheme. Subedin completed all the required paperwork and submitted the claim file to the labour department.
