Bengaluru, June 3 -- Former India captain and legendary leg-spinner Anil Kumble on Tuesday struck a tone of cautious optimism ahead of the much-anticipated IPL finals between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab, saying the better-performing side on the day would take the honours.
Kumble, who has had professional stints with both franchises, welcomed the prospect of a new winner but avoided picking sides. "Yeah, yeah, I've been involved in both the teams, RCB and Punjab. It's good that there'll be a new winner. Yeah, hopefully, I'm rooting for - hopefully both the teams will play. It'll be a really good game," he told reporters here.
