Bengaluru, Dec. 6 -- union Minister HD Kumaraswamy has written to Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, urging the inclusion of selected teachings from the Bhagavad Gita in school curricula across the country, citing their relevance to value-based education under the National Education Policy (NEP).

In his letter, Kumaraswamy said Bharat has always been a land of saints, knowledge, and enduring civilizational values rooted in Sanatana Dharma, which upholds the universal idea of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. He highlighted that the Bhagavad Gita's message of Nishkama Karma and dutiful living remains vital in the present global environment.
