Srinagar, Sept. 8 -- Two unidentified terrorists were killed and a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) injured in an ongoing encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district , Indian Army said.
Based on specific intelligence input provided by J&K Police, a joint cordon-and-search operation was launched by the Army, CRPF and Police in the Guddar forest area of Kulgam.
"Vigilant troops observed suspicious activity and upon being challenged, terrorists opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire during which two terrorists were eliminated and a junior commissioned officer suffered injuries," the Army's Srinagar-based Chinar Corps said.
The identities of the two ultras are being ascertained.
