Srinagar, Sept. 10 -- The anti-terror operation in south Kashmir's Kulgam district concluded today after no fresh contact was established with militants in the past 24 hours, officials said.
The operation was launched yesterday in the Guddar forest following intelligence inputs about the presence of militants. During the initial encounter, two terrorists were killed, while two Army personnel - including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) - were martyred.
A senior security official said extensive searches were carried out throughout the day, but no further contact was made.
"The operation has been called off," a senior police officer confirmed.
