Hyderabad, March 31 -- Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly criticized the Congress-led Telangana government for its crackdown on Hyderabad Central University (HCU) students protesting against alleged land encroachment.

Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan, KTR condemned the police action and questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's silence on the issue despite his past environmental activism.

HCU students approached KTR, alleging that the state government is attempting to seize 400 acres of university land under the guise of development.
