Hyderabad, Dec. 11 -- BRS working president KT Rama Rao strongly opposed the union government's proposed Seeds Bill, calling it anti-farmer and demanding that it be withdrawn immediately.

In a statement here on Thursday, he said the Bill prioritises corporate interests over farmers and removes the role of state governments in crucial seed regulation.

KTR said any new Seeds Bill must place farmers at the centre and be shaped through consultations with farmers' unions, seed experts, agricultural scientists and political parties. He noted that the party has already submitted detailed feedback to the Centre.
