Hyderabad, March 24 -- BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Tuesday raised serious concerns in the Telangana Assembly over delays in disbursal of funds under the Overseas Education Scheme, highlighting the difficulties being faced by students studying abroad.
Speaking during question hour, KTR said that during the previous BRS government, nearly 7,000 students from dalit, tribal and backward class communities were supported to pursue higher education overseas with financial assistance of up to Rs 20 lakh per student.
He pointed out that the present government had announced the release of Rs 303 crore for overseas education in October 2025, but the funds are yet to be disbursed. As a result, nearly 2,500 students are still awaiting financi...
