Hyderabad, Jan. 8 -- Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao on Thursday alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy deliberately stalled the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project to please his former political boss, pushing lakhs of farmers into distress.
Speaking at a joining programme in Kollapur constituency at Telangana Bhavan, KTR said nearly 90 per cent of the project had been completed during the tenure of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, with only canal works remaining.
He alleged that the Congress government cancelled tenders and halted works for political reasons, denying farmers much-needed irrigation amid severe water scarcity.
