Bengaluru, July 23 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today announced that the state will undertake a comprehensive caste survey from September 22 to October 7, aimed at eliminating caste and class-based discrimination.

The fresh survey will serve as a foundational tool for future policy planning and the upcoming state Budget.

Speaking after a high-level preparatory meeting on the social, economic, and educational survey, the Chief Minister said, "The main objective of this caste survey is to eliminate caste and class discrimination and to ensure inclusive development. We want this to be a model for the country."
