Bengaluru, Dec. 1 -- The Karnataka Public Works Department (PWD) issued directions to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) to conduct a mandatory structural safety assessment of its stadium buildings through a NABL-registered expert agency, citing the age of the structures and the need to ensure public safety during large sporting events.
This was revealed to media in a press statement here on Monday. According to a government order, the department had fixed an annual rent of Rs 1,000 on 16 acres and 13 guntas of land on M.G. Road, which was leased to the then Mysore State Cricket Association for a period of 99 years.
