Hyderabad, Sept. 3 -- Rajya Sabha Member and National BC Welfare Association President R Krishnaiah has written a letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, urging the state government to sanction 100 new BC college hostels across Telangana and to enhance seats in the existing hostels by 30 per cent.
In his letter, Krishnaiah highlighted the acute shortage of hostel accommodation for BC students, particularly in district headquarters such as Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Warangal, Karimnagar, Sangareddy, and Nizamabad. He pointed out that thousands of students were unable to secure hostel seats and were being forced to discontinue their education due to the high cost of private hostels.
