Hyderabad, Aug. 14 -- Rajya Sabha Member and BC Welfare Association National President R. Krishnaiah has announced that he will stage a Satyagraha Deeksha at Indira Park, Hyderabad, on August 25 to press for 42 per cent reservations for Backward Classes in local bodies.
Addressing a meeting of 14 BC associations chaired by BC Welfare Association National Vice President Gujja Satyam on Thursday, Krishnaiah demanded that the state government implement 42 per cent BC reservations in the upcoming local body polls without delay. He urged the Congress government to exercise its constitutional powers instead of shifting responsibility to the Centre.
