Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 5 -- A YouTuber from Kottayam has been arrested for circulating a sexually abusive and defamatory video targeting a young woman on social media.
The accused, Jerin P (39), a resident of Velur near Pathinanchil Kadavu, was arrested by the Kottayam Cyber Crime Police after a case was initially registered by the Nemom Police here.
Police said the accused, who runs the Facebook page Voice of Malayali, uploaded a video on November 30 in which he made obscene and insulting remarks about the woman. The video was subsequently widely shared on Facebook, prompting immediate cyber scrutiny.
