Kottayam, Feb. 25 -- With the mercury levels on the rise, Kottayam recorded a temperature of 38.5 degree Celsius on Sunday which is the highest ever temperature level recorded in February, Indian Meteorological Department published the data on the official website. Kalaburagi in Karnataka recorded 38.4 degree celsius on February 1, the website stated. In 2014, Kottayam recorded 38.5 degree celsius in March and April. This February, temperature crossed 37 degree celsius on 10 days. At the same time compared to last week, mercury level has fallen to 36.5 degree celsius on Monday in Kottayam. The south district recorded 37.8 degree celsius on February 11 and 17. Same temperature level was recorded in 1999 and 2018. UNI GKN JTS 2352
