Mumbai, Jan. 26 -- Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Monday criticised the Centre's decision to confer the Padma Bhushan on former Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, alleging that Koshyari had undermined democracy and the Constitution during his tenure.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Raut said the award should be condemned not only by the opposition but also by the ruling Mahayuti alliance, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde. He alleged that Koshyari had "murdered democracy and the Constitution" by toppling the Uddhav Thackeray-led government.
