Pune, Nov. 28 -- Maharashtra's Konkan coast is likely to experience strong winds accompanied by rainfall, according to a weather alert by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) following a cyclone-like system formed over the Bay of Bengal.
According to IMD, this weather system is moving toward the Andhra-Tamil Nadu shoreline at a speed of around 17 km per hour. As a result, heavy rains are expected along the coastal regions of both states, including Puducherry, while the Konkan belt in Maharashtra may witness intense showers.
