Hyderabad, Sept. 9 -- Telangana Roads, Buildings, and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that all pending irrigation projects in the erstwhile Nalgonda district are being expedited, expressing confidence that farmers' long-pending demands for water will soon be met.

Speaking at a review meeting on joint Nalgonda district irrigation projects held at Jala Saudha today, the Minister said it was a positive development that State Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy also hails from the same district.

Recounting his efforts in 2005, Komatireddy said he had convinced the then Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy to launch the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel project.
