Kolkata, March 4 -- The cyber wing of Kolkata Police (KP) has busted a major SIM card racket in the city with the arrest of 10 suspects and seizure of hundreds of fake SIM cards from their possession, official sources said on Tuesday.
The sleuths of Cyber wing began investigation across the city over the last ten days following a tip off about a fake SIM card racket and arrested the 10 suspects.
It was alleged that the suspects had been selling pre-activated SIM cards to cyber criminals for a premium.
Sources said the police uncovered a hideout at Kestopur and arrested Anirban Saha and his wife Deblina Chakraborty, who were running the fake SIM cards selling business which were activated using the details of other people.
