Nagpur, Dec. 13 -- Members of the Koli community on Saturday launched a semi-nude protest and began an indefinite hunger strike demanding Scheduled Tribe (Adivasi) status and redressal of alleged injustices in the caste certificate.
The agitation, being carried out under the banner of a committee inspired by pioneer revolutionary Ragoji Bhangre, later turned aggressive.
During the protest at Yashwant Stadium, an individual attempted to jump from a wall in an apparent suicide bid. However, the police intervened and prevented the incident, leading to a major commotion at the site.
