Kolhapur, Aug. 6 -- A 22 year-old youth was brutally murdered a with sharp weapon by unidentified attackers in Maharashtra's Koljapur district this morning, police said.

According to Jaysingpur police, the incident occurred at Chipari Fhata on Sangli-Kolhapur National Highway when some miscreants attacked Sandesh Laxman Shelke(22), who was returning home after leaving his sister at Chipari Phat.
The miscreants, who seemingly were waiting for Sandesh, stabbed him on his back and neck. Sandesh died on the spot.
Police rushed to the spot and began searching for the attackers by checking the CCTV footage of the spot.
The motive for the attack was yet to be ascertained. UNI SSS SSP
