Kolhapur, Aug. 15 -- District guardian minister Prakash Abitkar today hoisted the national flag at the Kolhapur district collector office to mark the 79th Independence Day celebrations.
Mr Abitkar remembered the freedom fighters who fought for the freedom of the country and saluted them.
While addressing the gathering, Mr Abitkar said that he is committed to the overall development of the district by making substantial contributions in various sectors such as education, health, agriculture, tourism, rural development and others.
Mr Abitkar said that the 50-year historic struggle of the people of the district has been successful with the setting up of a Circuit Bench of the High Court here which to be inaugurated on Sunday.
