Aizawl, March 31 -- Heightened security measures have been put in place along Mizoram's inter-state border with Assam in view of the forthcoming Assembly elections in the neighbouring state, Kolasib District Magistrate Lalmuan Puia said on Tuesday.
In a statement, the District Magistrate said that security has been intensified on the Assam sideof the inter-state border due to the elections, in accordance with guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
In response, vigilance along the bordering areas has also been strengthened, with regular police patrolling and duty deployment being maintained.
