Aizawl, Aug. 10 -- Kolasib district in northern Mizoram has recorded the highest rainfall in the state for the period from January to July 2025, with a total of 1,758.6mm, according to Sudheer Kumar Dwivedi, Director of the Aizawl centre for the Indian Meteorological Department, who spoke on Sunday.

Dwivedi noted that several districts experienced more rainfall this year compared to last, with Kolasib leading the tally. Following Kolasib, Aizawl district recorded 1,508.3mm, while Siaha district in the south received 1,301.4mm. Lengpui village, which lies near Aizawl city and hosts the state's only airport, recorded 1,468.9mm of rainfall.
