His sixth hundred against the Proteas pushed him past Sachin Tendulkar and David Warner, who have five each.
Kohli's century in Ranchi was sealed in the 38th over with a trademark steer past third man. Facing Marco Jansen, he opened the face to a back-of-length delivery outside off and guided it for four, bringing up his 52nd ODI hundred.
