Kollam, Sept. 27 -- Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd (KMML) has crossed a major milestone by producing 79,375 tonnes of oxygen since commissioning its modern plant in 2020, while also embarking on a green initiative to convert chemical waste into value-added products.

Built at a cost of Rs 50 crore, the oxygen plant has made KMML completely self-reliant in meeting its daily requirement of 63 tonnes of gaseous oxygen for titanium dioxide pigment production.

The surplus liquid oxygen, with a current output of 10 tonnes per day, is being supplied to hospitals and industries at concessional rates.
