Marrakech (Morocco), Nov. 29 -- Brazilian filmmaker Kleber Mendoca Filho, currently navigating the awards-season spotlight with his Oscar-submitted feature "The Secret Agent", has begun to lift the curtain on his next project, a historical drama rooted in the turbulent landscape of 1930s Recife.
Speaking on the red carpet during the opening night of the Marrakech Film Festival, the director confirmed that his forthcoming project will once again unfold in his home city, the backdrop for much of his acclaimed filmography.
"The next film, if it turns out to be a good script.should take place in the 1930s in Recife, the city where all my films have taken place," he said.
