Chennai, Oct. 25 -- An Air Asia flight with 182 passengers and eight crewmembers on board made an emergency landing at the Anna Internationalairport here late last night after suffering a bird hit.
Airpprt sources said the incident took place shortly before midnight last nightand all the passengers and the crew members were safe.
The flight was in its initial ascent after departing from Chennai when a bird hitthe front portion of the aircraft and got sucked into one of its engines, causingdamage.
The alert pilot immediately contacted the Air Traffic Control authorities, abortedthe ascent, and made a safe emergency landing.
