Bhubaneswar, April 4 -- Making history on the international stage, ten students from the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Odisha, performed William Shakespeare's plays in the Santali tribal language for the first time in Romania.
The performance took place during an international cultural festival, marking a landmark moment for indigenous Indian performing arts.
Previously, KISS students had travelled abroad primarily for sports events. This time, they visited Romania to showcase tribal dances, promote cultural exchange, and highlight India's rich heritage.
Over 150 students from 30 countries participated in the festival, and the Santali-language Shakespeare performances drew widespread appreciation from the audience.
