New Delhi/Hyderabad, Jan. 21 -- union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy on Wednesday alleged that political interference and corruption have pushed Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) into serious financial distress and caused delays in operationalising the Naini coal block in Odisha, which was allotted to Singareni to support Telangana's power needs.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Kishan Reddy said Singareni has a 136-year legacy and has played a key role in Telangana's development and coal production, but began facing difficulties after the formation of the State due to mismanagement and interference.
