Bengaluru, Oct. 15 -- Biocon founder and Executive Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw today defended her criticism of Bengaluru's infrastructure, stating that her focus was on Karnataka's issues as she lived in the state and had a vested interest in its development.

Her response came after AICC Secretary Mansoor Khan questioned why her criticism was limited to Karnataka while she remained "silent" on similar issues in Maharashtra and at the Centre. "I live in Karnataka, not Maharashtra. I have a vested interest in my city and state," Shaw retorted, adding that her comments stemmed from concern for Bengaluru's deteriorating roads and waste management.
