Bangkok, July 16 -- The King of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim, will make a state visit to Russia in August, The Star newspaper reported on Wednesday, citing the Royal Court Administration.

Sultan Ibrahim commented on his upcoming state visit to Russia at a briefing, which was led by Foreign Ministry Secretary-General Dato Seri Azman Mohd Zin at the Istana Negara Palace. Russian Ambassador to Malaysia Nail Latypov was reportedly present.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim came to Russia on an official visit in May. Russian President Vladimir Putin asked him to convey his best wishes to Sultan Ibrahim, along with an invitation to visit Russia.
