Hyderabad, Feb. 19 -- Doctors at KIMS Hospital have removed a pen cap stuck in the lungs of a 26-year-old man from Karimnagar for 21 years.

He accidentally swallowed it at the age of five.

Over the past month, he had been experiencing persistent cough and unexplained weight loss, the hospital said in a release here on Wednesday.

His condition worsened significantly over the last ten days, making it difficult for him to sleep.

Upon consulting doctors, a CT scan was conducted, revealing an infection in the lower left lung.

He was then referred to KIMS Hospital, Kondapur, Hyderabad, where a further CT scan was performed.
