Washington, Aug. 10 -- Europe and Kiev are calling on the United States to provide security guarantees as part of any future agreement to resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. They also insist that Ukraine's opportunity to join NATO remains open, according to sources cited by the New York Times.
The sources, who spoke anonymously, revealed that European allies want the US to keep the door open for Ukraine's NATO membership, even if joining the alliance is not immediately feasible.
