Kidambi Srikanth sets up clash with top seed Chou
Ontario, July 4 -- India's Kidambi Srikanth, Shriyanshi Valishetty, and S Sankar Muthusamy Subramanian marched into the quarterfinals of the Canada Open 2025 with commanding straight-game victories in their respective Round of 16 matches on Thursday.
Former World No. 1 Srikanth, aiming to build on his runner-up finish at the Malaysia Masters earlier this season, produced a clinical display to defeat Chinese Taipei's Wang Po-Wei 21-19, 21-14 in just over 40 minutes. Srikanth will next face a tough challenge in top seed and World No. 6 Chou Tien-Chen of Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals.
