Kuala Lumpur, May 20 -- Former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth progressed to the main draw of the men's singles event at the Malaysia Masters 2025 badminton tournament after winning both his qualifying matches at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on Tuesday.

Srikanth, currently ranked 65th in the BWF men's singles rankings, began his campaign in dominant fashion by dispatching world No. 64 Kuo Kuan-lin of Chinese Taipei 21-8, 21-13 in just 29 minutes. In his second qualifying encounter, the Indian shuttler staged a strong comeback after dropping the first game to defeat Huang Yu Kai, also of Chinese Taipei, 9-21, 21-12, 21-16.
