New Delhi, Sept. 21 -- Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge today flayed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the nation, accusing the government of misleading the public with "hollow optics" after years of financial burden imposed through a flawed GST system.

Referring to the government's Rs 2.5 lakh crore "savings festival" initiative, Kharge, in a post on X, called it a mere "band-aid" on the economic damage caused by what he termed the "Gabbar Singh Tax" a jibe at the Modi government's version of Goods & Services Tax (GST).
