Kalaburgi, Sept. 7 -- Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge today mounted a blistering attack on the Modi government, accusing it of misleading the nation on security issues, exploiting the poor for electoral gains, and abandoning India's long-standing tradition of a balanced foreign policy.

Addressing reporters here, Kharge said the government's handling of the Chinese border situation exposed glaring contradictions. He alleged that while the government initially denied any intrusion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself later "intruded" (visited) into China, reflecting inconsistency at the highest level. "Such conflicting statements weaken India's credibility and send mixed signals to the world," Kharge remarked.
