New Delhi, March 7 -- Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday criticised the Centre over the increase in cooking gas prices, alleging that the government has burdened the public with rising costs while failing to pass on the benefits of lower international prices.
In a post on the social media platform X, Kharge said the price of domestic LPG cylinders had been raised by Rs 60 while the government had earlier benefited from reduced international rates.
"Rs 60 increase in domestic LPG cylinders, and Rs 115 profit earned from commercial LPG," Kharge wrote, accusing the government of prioritising revenue over relief for consumers.
