New Delhi, Aug. 4 -- Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi today expressed sorrow over the passing of Shibu Soren, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and the founder of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
In a post on X, Kharge said, "I am saddened by the demise of Shibu Soren ji - former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, former Union Minister, and founder of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha".
"He dedicated his life to the struggle for a separate Jharkhand state, the rights of its people over water, forests, and land, and the preservation of tribal culture," the leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha said.
