New Delhi, Sept. 27 -- Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi today expressed grief over the loss of lives due to a stampede in a rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu.
Both leaders also extended condolences to the bereaved families.
At least 36 people died in a tragic stampede incident at a political outreach rally organised by Tamilaga Vettri Kazahgam (TVK) Founder and actor-politician Vijay at Karur tonight.
"Deeply distressed by the unfortunate and tragic stampede at a political rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, which claimed the lives of several innocent people," Kharge said on X.
