New Delhi, March 27 -- Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to consider introducing a national policy on population management, citing the need to balance demographic growth with sustainable development.

In a communication to the Prime Minister, Khandelwal said India's population, now exceeding 1.4 billion, presents both an opportunity and a challenge. He noted that while a large population can support economic growth, it may also put pressure on infrastructure, employment, healthcare, housing, and education if not effectively managed.
